The Fallbrook Film Factory was created to bring filmmaking to creative people who would not ordinarily get to experience it. It offers a truly incredible art experience for Fallbrook and its neighboring communities.
The timing is perfect for the Fallbrook Film Factory. The paradigm shift of movie making technology to digital has made filmmaking accessible to talents outside the traditional film industry. Until just recently, there were huge barriers to theatrical film making. The cost to produce was prohibitive, typically in the millions, and the equipment, the know-how, and the processes were available only to a privileged few. Today, independent filmmaking is beginning to flourish like never before and there are in fact many distribution outlets coming on line to serve this niche market.
Adding to the good timing for the ‘Factory’ is that Fallbrook itself is seeking to become an artistic center for the region (similar to Santa Fe or Laguna Beach) and all the communities’ arts organizations are banding together to bring notoriety and tourism to Fallbrook. So there is a synergy and level of cooperation among the various Fallbrook creative organizations that did not exist before
